Bush Approval Rating is Lowest Ever Recorded in Gallup Poll

As if this is very surprising, but the new Gallup poll shows that Bush has hit a new low with a 25% approval rating and a 70% disapproval rating. This gives him the honors of getting the worst net approval/disapproval rating and highest disapproval rating ever since Gallup polling began back in the late 1930s. Keep in mind that this poll has been around for 71 years.

This officially makes Bush the least popular president ever, even surpassing Nixon and Truman! Although Nixon and Truman had lower approval ratings, 22% and 24% respectively, their net approval/disapproval ratings were slightly higher than Bush’s.

Now my question is, how low will it go? We obviously haven’t hit bottom yet, in housing or stock prices. And we haven’t actually felt the effects of inflation when they print the $700 billion for the bailout bill. Once the consequences actually manifest and slaps the public in the face and hits home in a very real way, I expect the approval rating to drop even lower to at least 20%. By the way, what the hell are the 25% people smoking that gave Bush an approval rating? That must be some good stuff!

Gallup’s survey was conducted from October 3-5, 2008 and involved 1,011 Americans.
